MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all buildings and equipment in safe condition and good working order. Maintenance Technicians must also be available to respond to guest-related questions and concerns in a timely, efficient and positive manner.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Maintenance technicians report directly to the Vintage Hotels’ Corporate Office. Maintenance works with team members at the Front Desk and in Housekeeping, Maintenance, Laundry and the Corporate Office. Maintenance technicians must keep good communication with hotel management of open/closed work orders and projects on-site.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform carpentry repair of structures such as partitions, walls, doors, fences, window frames, office furniture, roofs and shelves; arrange for major service as needed
- Perform electrical repair work, which includes lighting systems, outlets and plugs. Inspect systems for unsafe conditions to arrange for major services as needed
- Perform plumbing repair of leaks or breaks; replace washers and other minor parts; clear minor clogs; arrange for major service as needed
- Perform general landscaping duties such as weeding, mowing, trimming and watering as needed.
- Apply and prepare various surfaces for painting; make painting repairs to wall coverings; paint safety stripes on walkways, stairs, parking areas; arrange for major service as needed
- Perform operator level maintenance of company vehicles such as checking oil, coolant and other fluid levels, checking tire pressure and wear and tear and refueling; deliver vehicle for repairs and maintenance as necessary
- Drive maintenance or other company vehicle on a daily basis between properties and to pick up parts and supplies
- Check chemical levels on pools and spas; replace chemicals as needed; Drain when necessary; arrange for major service as needed
- Perform general repairs of washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, carts and other equipment; use hand tools, ladders and brushes; arrange for major service as needed
- Maintain maintenance records; Order and pick up parts and supplies; may use a computer in the course of these duties
- Perform other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous work-related experience
- High school diploma or GED
REQUIRED LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License
- Must pass a criminal background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull and move up to 100 pounds
- Work requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting while holding weight, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, grasping, gripping and good manual dexterity
- Work requires use of various equipment / machinery such as – log splitter, weed eater, pressure washer, auger, pro-press, various saws, sanders, air compressors, paint sprayers, drills, hand tools, dolly, lift, others as required
- Work requires exposure to cleaning chemicals, pool chemicals and various other chemicals required in performing maintenance tasks
- Work requires the employee to be able to sit in both an office setting and vehicles
- Up to 75% of work is performed outdoors in all season temperatures
WORK HOURS AND WAGE
- Day shift, weekends and holidays
- On-call (after hours)
- Full-time, Hourly position, Non-Exempt
- Starting pay $19.50 DOE
